BAGUIO CITY—The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCor) are strictly enforcing the ban on the use of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in welcoming the New Year in the Cordillera region.
“We are highly encouraging our local chief executives (LCEs) and the public to strictly comply with the said regulation, because we are eyeing for a continuous decline of firecracker related injuries,” said DILG-CAR Assistant Regional Director Araceli San Jose.

BAGUIO CITY--A total of 11 local government units (LGUs), and two civil society organizations (CSOs) in Cordillera region received recognition during the 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) special awards program for their exemplary efforts on their role in complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drug programs amidst the pandemic, and for their relentless effort in eradicating drug menace with drug prevention programs over the years.
Of the 11 LGUs, the municipalities of Buguias, Kibungan, and La Trinidad in Benguet; the municipalities of Pudtol, Luna, Conner, and Sta. Marcela in Apayao; and municipalities of Pilar, Tineg, Lacub, and San Juan in Abra were recognized for having achieved 100 percent performance of their respective local anti-drug abuse councils.

BAGUIO CITY—In a bid to further strengthen the government’s efforts to combat the communist insurgency and other armed conflicts, the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) here convened promoting integrity and good governance among cluster members.
“One of the many challenges we face right now is how to resist temptations, particularly in monetary terms apart from enforcing good governance in our jurisdiction,” said RTF-ELCAC vice chairperson and presiding officer, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
